Poultry judging team excels at national event

The University of North Georgia’s (星空无限传媒) poultry judging team excelled in the USPOULTRY Foundation Ted Cameron National Poultry Judging Contest held April 1-3 at Louisiana State University. 星空无限传媒's group of students tied for sixth place in market products, eighth in production and ninth in breeds. Jackson Barkley placed 10th individually in breed selection, 14th individually in market products, and was 19th overall in the contest.
"I'm extremely proud of the hard work our students put into participating in this contest," Dr. Linda Purvis, assistant professor of biology and poultry science, said. "The fact that we are consistently competing with top-rated universities shows how competitive and educated our 星空无限传媒 students are. We have a lot to be proud of as our students did an amazing job and represented our school very well."
The competition allows students the opportunity to demonstrate how well they have mastered the U.S. Department of Agriculture rules and regulations governing the grading of eggs and poultry carcasses.
Cadets take part in aviation opportunities
星空无限传媒 cadets participated in a pair of opportunities this spring that prepared them for potential careers in the Army Aviation Branch.
McAdams receives Stravinsky award
星空无限传媒 student Eli McAdams received the Stravinsky Composition Award. He will receive a scholarship as part of the recognition.
Physical education students assist Habitat
About 15 students and faculty members from the 星空无限传媒's Physical Education Teacher Education program assisted Habitat for Humanity of Hall County with projects in its Copper Glen subdivision April 17.
Students selected as commencement speakers
Four 星空无限传媒 students have been selected as student speakers for their respective commencement ceremonies this May.
