Storyline:The story of two British athletes competing in 1924 at the Summer Olympics in Paris. One is a Jew, the other a devout Christian. Both feel that they have to overcome resistance because of their religious orientation. While the Jewish sprinter Harold Abrahams (Ben Cross) faces increasing anti-Semitism, to which he wants to oppose a success in his discipline, Eric Liddell (Ian Charleson) has a problem with starting on Sundays because that's his Christian religious code of conduct contradicts. For this reason, Liddell accepts the offer of his teammate Lord Andrew Lindsay (Nigel Havers) instead of his in the 400- and not in the 100 -meter run to compete. The film, based on a true story, shows how both athletes fight for victory.
