Storyline:1939: With the help of Jewish capital, the clever businessman Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson) manages to buy a dispossessed enamel factory in Krakow, which from then on produces fieldware for the oncoming war. In order to maximize his profits, he uses extremely cheap Jewish workers from the Krakow ghetto, which he is granted on the basis of the war-important goods that his factory produces. Schindler knows how to represent and make business contacts, but in administrative and coordination tasks relies on his experienced accountant Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley). In cooperation with their talents, the Emailfabrik is developing into a flourishing company, which requires more and more workers. Stern, who is given a free hand on personnel issues, uses this to get as many Jews as possible, mostly those who, because of their academic or artistic background or a disability, are unfit for industrial work to get a job in the factory. In 1943 the survivors of the Kraków ghetto were transferred to the Kraków-Plaszów labor camp. Here Schindler witnesses how the inmates are treated inhumanly, how guards arbitrarily shoot people. Then this camp will be closed and the surviving Jews will be taken to Auschwitz for liquidation. Schindler, however, does everything to prevent this.
