Storyline:While investigating a series of mysterious murders, FBI agents Joe Merriwether (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Katherine Cowles (Abbie Cornish) are in the dark. Therefore, Merriwether, his old friend, decides to appoint the psychoanalyst Dr. Clancy (Anthony Hopkins) to ask for help, as this has clairvoyant capabilities that have already provided crucial clues in one or the other tricky case. Although Clancy initially hesitates and Cowles expresses her doubts about his alleged supernatural powers, the doctor finally agrees to support Merriwether and his partner. Thanks to his visions, Clancy soon realizes a hitherto hidden pattern among the murder victims, which in effect causes the FBI to gradually come to grips with the mysterious culprit (Colin Farrell). At the same time, however, the persecutors must realize that it seems to them to be superior in every respect to the realization of a perfidious plan.
