Storyline:The pilot Barry Seal (Tom Cruise) uses his ticket in the 80s to make big money with drug and arms smuggling. He handles a significant part of his illegal activities in the small village of Mena in the US state of Arkansas. But his experience as a smuggler also makes him interesting for the CIA, which soon recruits him for covert operations in South America. Barry, however, quickly discovers that he can continue to do business with various parties and so gets himself involved in a complicated network of machinations involving American intelligence agencies, Nicaraguan guerrilla fighters and the Medellin cartel run by drug lord Pablo Escobar.
