Storyline:From 14 to 20 August 1971, a sociological experiment was carried out in which male subjects were randomly assigned the role of prisoners or prison guards. The whole operation was led by psychology professor Philip Zimbardo (Billy Crudup), who was to investigate for the US military the possible causes of conflicts in corresponding guard-occupant constellations. A total of 24 people (including Ezra Miller, Nicholas Braun and Michael Angarano) attended, but very soon it became apparent that the participants identified far more with their roles than expected. Mental as well as physical torture were the consequence, which did not go out only from the guards. The prisoners also began to make their lives at the behest of the overseers hell. The experiment went out of control and ended prematurely after only six out of 14 days. Based on the transcript of the results of the experiment by Philip Zimbardo.
