Storyline:General George S. Patton (George C. Scott) is a celebrated commander of the tank units he commanded during World War II. First, he demonstrates his military skills in the North African Mission, where he meets with his team on the German Erwin Rommel (Karl Michael Vogler). Even though Patton can win great military victories, he keeps pitting his superiors. This is also related to his ideas about human rights, as he is considered by many people as a ruthless and brutal strategist for whom a human life is not worth much. This also leads to a temporary suspension of Patton, but he manages to rehabilitate himself for the decisive battle in the Ardennes and thus significantly intervenes in the course of the war with. Storyline:The Cold War is in full swing as the acting commander, US General Jack D. Ripper (Sterling Hayden), begins to spin through an American nuclear weapons base. He only drinks distilled water and says the Russians would not drink water, just vodka. Why? They poisoned the water - part of a communist world conspiracy. The threat becomes more and more apparent in Ripper's mind, and one day he orders the "code red" (which only the president is allowed to do if an immediate attack on the US is imminent) and sends atomically populated B-52 bombers to the Soviet Union.
