Storyline:In New York in 1929, the extrovert writer Thomas Wolfe (Jude Law) is rejected by one publisher after another until he meets Max Perkins (Colin Firth). He is a lecturer at the renowned publishing house Charles Scribner's Son and sees the talent in Wolfe. The Mammut manuscript of Wolfes first "O Lost" titled debut novel cuts Perkins by 300 pages, as the author is still moaning. It crashes neatly between the two, but the result can be read: "Look Homeward, Angel. A Story of the Buried Life. "(Dt." Look home, angel ") is a great success. But then Wolfe exaggerates in the second novel "Von Zeit und Strom" when he submits a whopping 5,000 pages. A deep ditch arises between the editor and the author. Wolf's relationship with married costume designer Aline Bernstein (Nicole Kidman) is on the edge, while Perkins neglects his wife Louise (Laura Linney) and the five daughters ...
