Storyline:In 1957, when the Cold War is at its peak, the US succeeds in arresting Soviet agent Rudolf Abel (Mark Rylance). He is interrogated but refuses to cooperate. As a public defender, he gets someone on the side whose skills are out of the question, but as an insurance lawyer brings little expertise for his new job: James Donovan (Tom Hanks).
