Storyline:Emily Dickinson (Cynthia Nixon) is a shy, withdrawn woman who falls in love with the power of language. Her interest is in poetry. Even in her youth, she was considered extremely intelligent, but also very introverted, although she liked exchanging views on current topics. It is precisely the role of women in patriarchal society that occupies them. The older the ambitious Emily becomes, the more she takes refuge in the art of dealing with words uniquely and continues to withdraw from the social life. The poet spends most of her life at the family estate in Armherst, Massachusetts. Despite her talent, her works do not reach a large audience and do not attract the attention that Emily has always wanted.
