Storyline:In World War I, British officer Thomas Edward Lawrence (Peter O'Toole) is sent to the Arabian Peninsula to defeat the Turks. He tries to adapt to the lifestyle of the Bedouins. However, to defeat the Turks, he must ally with the Arabs. First, he pulls Prince Feisal (Alec Guinness) on his side. Lawrence Forges a Plan: The key to success lies in the conquest of the port city of Aqaba. Before Akaba he gains the support of local tribes with psychological skill and takes the city in a surprise attack. Lawrence becomes the admired leader "El'awrence", who only wears Bedouin clothing. When he learns that the British government does not intend to grant their independence to the Arabs after the war, he decides to take the city of Damascus together with the Arabs before the British in order to prevent a later influence of the British.
