Storyline:The city of Compton in the south of Los Angeles is one of the areas with the highest crime rates in the United States. Drug trafficking and gang violence are the order of the day here, while the police often encounter racism among the many Afro-American inhabitants of the suburbs. The seemingly hopeless situation led in the mid-80s finally five young men to process their brutal everyday life by means of music and thus raise their voices against the prevailing abuses. Under her stage name Dr. Corey Hawkins, Ice Cube (O'Shea Jackson, Jr.), MC Ren (Aldis Hodge), Eazy-E (Jason Mitchell), and DJ Yella (Neil Brown, Jr.) join forces to form the hip-hop group, N.W.A. With hard beats and just as honest as controversial lyrics they cause a great sensation and especially against the police. That's another reason why they have great success with their album "Straight Outta Compton". But fame is also accompanied by increasing differences between the rappers, so that N.W.A threatens to break up shortly after the big breakthrough.
