The French Connection(1971)

Storyline:The friendly New York detectives "Popeye" Doyle (Gene Hackman) and "Cloudy" Russo (Roy Scheider) have arrested more junkies in a year than their colleagues, but ultimately only small fish. Her boss (Eddie Egan) is also not particularly pleased with the methods with which in particular Doyle practices his profession. Doyle drags Russo into a restaurant where some actual or alleged gangsters meet. One of them is Sal Boca (Tony Lo Bianco), whom Doyle considers a drug dealer. They quickly learn that a major French dealer named Alain Charnier (Fernando Rey) is in New York. Charnier has persuaded French television star Devereau (Frédéric de Pasquale) to hide 60 kilos of high-quality heroin in his car to sell it via Boca to gangster boss Weinstock (Harold Gary). Charnier, with his killer Nicoli ( Marcel Bozzuffi) has appeared in New York, is a shrewd dog. He quickly realizes that the police are shadowing him, Boca and the other participants. The hunt begins...
