Storyline:It's the long, hot summer of 1948: Faraday (Domhnall Gleeson), a respected country doctor, is invited to the Hundreds Hall estate, which he knows very well. As a child of a housekeeper working there, he had visited it several times, but hardly recognizes the house 30 years later, for the old splendor has given way to a creeping decline. The Ayres family living there has owned the estate for over 200 years and now one of the family members is in need. Roderick Ayres (Will Poulter) has suffered a severe war trauma and Faraday is to help under the watchful eyes of Roderick's mother (Charlotte Rampling) and sister (Ruth Wilson). When it comes to unexplained events in the old walls, the doctor realizes that with the house - and possibly also with the Ayres family - something is totally wrong ... Film adaptation of the novel "The Visitor" (original title: "The Little Stranger") by Sarah Waters.
