Storyline:The Armenian medical student Michael (Oscar Isaac) travels to Constantinople in 1914 shortly before the outbreak of the First World War for his studies. There he meets the photojournalist Chris Myers (Christian Bale) and his lover, the artist Ana (Charlotte Le Bon), who traveled from Paris to the city on the Bosporus. Michael falls hopelessly in love with Ana, who, like him, has Armenian roots and soon reciprocates his love. But the couple's passionate love affair is in danger as war breaks out around them and the once-vibrant and multicultural Constantinople sinks into chaos. Michael and Ana flee together and have to face the threat of genocide against the Armenians not only for their love for each other, but also for their bare survival.
