Outreach at CHSP

Service and outreach are at the heart of the College of Health Sciences & Professions (CHSP), shaping not only how our students learn, but how they lead. At CHSP, the lines between classroom and career begin to blur as students engage in real-world applications of their knowledge, gaining valuable skills that set them apart in the healthcare industry. Through partnerships with local organizations, clinical placements, and community initiatives, students have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while developing leadership and professional expertise.

Whether addressing public health challenges, improving patient care, or advancing health technologies, CHSP students are empowered to drive meaningful change—not just for their future careers, but for the communities they serve today, tomorrow, and every day after.

Global Engagement

Students of the College of Health Sciences & Professions (CHSP) have numerous opportunities to serve communities around the world through the University of North Georgia’s global engagement programs. One impactful outreach trip takes students of the CHSP to Cusco, Peru, where they spend a week providing healthcare to underserved populations.

Working alongside local healthcare providers and clinic staff, students travel to nearby villages to deliver essential medical and nursing care while also focusing on health education, prevention, and wellness. These experiences not only broaden students’ cultural awareness and clinical skills but also reinforce CHSP’s commitment to improving global health and making a lasting impact beyond the classroom.
